WE NEED YOU!! All the board member positions this year are held by 8th grade parents. We need to find parents willing to help with the PTSA this upcoming school year.
It is time once again for Langley Middle School PTSA to nominate new officers for the school year 2014-2015. Below is a list of positions to be filled.
** President: Coordinates officers and committees, presides at PTSA meetings, attends and helps chair person over see PTSA events and functions, attends PTSA District and Council meetings, and works closely with the Principal.
** Vice President: Serves as the primary aide to the president and performs the duties of the president in their absence. Manages the information input for the PTSA website and Facebook page.
** Treasurer: Keeps permanent books of all monetary transactions, prepares and keeps copies of reports to comply with local, state and federal laws. Pays bills and reimbursements, coordinates deposits, etc.
** Secretary: Takes the minutes at each monthly board meeting and keeps a permanent record of those minutes.
OTHER (non-board member) POSITIONS AVAILABLE INCLUDE:
Fundraising Chairperson: Raises monies needed to meet the proposed budget through existing and new planned activities that align with the PTSA’s general guidelines. (Our main/largest fundraiser is the annual “Elf Chase” 5K run/walk the first weekend in December.)
Membership Chairperson: Plans a variety of membership promotion campaigns to promote the membership and support of the PTSA.
Grant Chairperson: Oversees and coordinates the yearly teacher and staff grant requests.
Hospitality Coordinator: Chair and coordinate volunteers to help provide food (and set-up/clean-up) at LMSPTSA sponsored events. This currently includes a monthly “birthday” cake/treat for the LMS staff, yearly staff/teacher appreciation week luncheon, back-to-school/parent information night, and science fair night.
Volunteer Coordinator: Oversees the coordination of PTSA volunteers for school and PTSA functions. Also, represents them on the PTSA executive board.
Website blogger: Keep our website up to date with activities and pertinent information about Langley Middle School and the PTSA.
Who can serve?
Men, women, parents, grandparents, teachers, staff, and members of the community who are members of the Langley Middle School PTSA can serve as an officer or board member. You do not have to have a student at Langley Middle School to serve on the PTSA.
