Online version of Child Advocate

No matter how we remember our own teen years—was it the best of times or the worst of times—there’s no question that today’s teens and pre-teens are growing up in a far different environment than the generations that proceeded them.  The challenges faced  by today’s teens include access to information on the Internet, the ability (and sometimes expectation) to be in contact with friends electronically twenty-four hours a day, the benefits and dangers of social networking, or the ability to maintain one’s sense of humanity in the digital age.  Parents who are helping their children deal with these challenges can get some tips in this month’s edition of “The Child Advocate”, Washington State PTA’s online parenting magazine, available here.
