South Whidbey Schools Superintendent, Dr. Jo Moccia is pleased to announce that the South Whidbey School District has been awarded a competitive grant from OSPI to study the teacher and principal evaluation process. Within a year, Washington school districts will be required to adopt a state approved evaluation process. Through this grant, teachers and administrators will study the three evaluation processes under consideration by the State, and will provide input regarding each of the three models.
Dr. Moccia, in conjunction with several members of the South Whidbey Teachers Association and the South Whidbey Schools administrative team, collaborated on the grant application in early September. The funding for the project will be administered through ESD 189 and the district will work in cooperation with the ESD and other districts across the state. The district is very proud to have received this grant and looks forward to the opportunity for teachers and administrators to work together on this project.
